Au d\u00e9but de cette ann\u00e9e 2015, voici donc une r\u00e9trospective des hauts et des bas de 2014.<\/p>\n<h2>Le prix du carburant<\/h2>\n<p>Le prix du carburant a atteint une moyenne nationale maximale d\u2019un peu plus de 4\u00a0$ par gallon pour chuter ensuite \u00e0 3,21\u00a0$ par gallon \u00e0 la fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e, un niveau que l\u2019on n\u2019avait plus vu depuis 2010, au sortir de la crise \u00e9conomique de 2008.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.xtl.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/fuel-graph-2014.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1264\" alt=\"fuel graph 2014\" src=\"https:\/\/www.xtl.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/fuel-graph-2014.png\" width=\"552\" height=\"488\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.xtl.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/fuel-graph-2014.png 552w, https:\/\/www.xtl.com\/portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/fuel-graph-2014-300x265.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 552px) 100vw, 552px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Les volumes de fret<\/h2>\n<p>L\u2019ann\u00e9e a commenc\u00e9 fort : l\u2019indice de fret de Transcore a atteint un niveau record jamais enregistr\u00e9 auparavant en avril, mais, en d\u00e9cembre 2014, est l\u00e9g\u00e8rement retomb\u00e9 en dessous de ses r\u00e9sultats de 2012 et de 2013.<\/p>\n<h2>R\u00e9glementation<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>En 2010, l\u2019Environmental Protection Agency des \u00c9.\u2011U. et la National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ont annonc\u00e9 l\u2019adoption de normes conjointes en mati\u00e8re d\u2019\u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effets de serre et de normes d\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique pour les mod\u00e8les de v\u00e9hicules lourds et de poids moyen de 2014.<\/li>\n<li>Apr\u00e8s avoir adopt\u00e9 une position ferme vis-\u00e0-vis de la r\u00e9glementation en mati\u00e8re d\u2019horaires de travail, la FMCSA a, le 16 d\u00e9cembre 2014, suspendu l\u2019application de l\u2019article 49 CFR 395 concernant la r\u00e9introduction de la limite de 60 ou 70 heures que les conducteurs devaient respecter depuis le 1<sup>er<\/sup>\u00a0juillet 2013.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Les \u00e9v\u00e9nements qui ont fait manchette<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>La p\u00e9nurie de conducteurs a \u00e9t\u00e9, de loin, l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement le plus marquant de 2014. En raison de l\u2019essor \u00e9conomique, associ\u00e9 au vieillissement et au d\u00e9part \u00e0 la retraite de la main-d\u2019\u0153uvre ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 des r\u00e8glements en mati\u00e8re d\u2019horaires de travail qui ont entra\u00een\u00e9 une limitation de la capacit\u00e9, tout le monde s\u2019est retrouv\u00e9 avec une cargaison trop importante par rapport au nombre de conducteurs disponibles.<\/li>\n<li>Des \u00e9v\u00e9nements m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques extr\u00eames\u00a0: l\u2019\u00e9norme temp\u00eate de verglas du d\u00e9but de l\u2019ann\u00e9e a fait obstacle aux transports et priv\u00e9 des milliers de personnes d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9. Puis, \u00e0 la fin de 2014, l\u2019importante temp\u00eate de neige qui a frapp\u00e9 la r\u00e9gion de Buffalo a entra\u00een\u00e9 la fermeture de l\u2019ensemble des grandes autoroutes en direction du Sud pendant plusieurs jours et caus\u00e9 un v\u00e9ritable d\u00e9sastre pour les transporteurs.<\/li>\n<li>\u00c9tant donn\u00e9 que l\u2019\u00e9conomie canadienne, fond\u00e9e sur les ressources, d\u00e9pend fortement des prix des produits de base, le dollar canadien a tranquillement baiss\u00e9, parall\u00e8lement au prix du p\u00e9trole. L\u2019ann\u00e9e s\u2019est ouverte sur un taux de change \u00e0 91 cents pour se terminer \u00e0 86 cents. La p\u00e9nurie de conducteurs n\u2019est pas pr\u00e8s de se r\u00e9gler, le maintien \u00e0 la baisse des prix du p\u00e9trole pourrait avoir d\u2019importantes r\u00e9percussions sur l\u2019\u00e9conomie et les tendances en mati\u00e8re de fret, mais il est vrai aussi qu\u2019un seul tumulte politique dans un pays producteur de p\u00e9trole pourrait faire grimper les prix du p\u00e9trole plus pr\u00e8s des r\u00e9cents niveaux.
