Ensure maintenance schedules are met and repairs are arranged in a timely and cost effective way. Assist in developing effective methods to manage day to day in order to maximize equipment life and quality.
Responsibilities:
Coordination of Maintenance:
Work with reports and Operations to complete repairs/services necessary to meet Operations’ needs and schedules on a day to day basis
Responsible for respecting and coordinating completion of PM’s and DOT’s according to schedules in the AS400
Responsible for scheduling tractors and trailers for timely and cost effective service or repair; following up to ensure satisfactory completion within the expected guidelines (SRT, ISIS, etc)
Authorized to outsource for under $1000 in order to preserve safety and or productivity
Authorize work in accordance with XTL guidelines (SRT, ISIS, etc.)
Clearly indicate scope of work authorized and accurate estimated cost
Clearly indicate limits to vendor and use p/o info to manage accordingly
Insure data accuracy (Item, SRC, Work type, parts used) in order to achieve maximum communication, cost management and the ability to track repair history/trends
Check status of trucks and trailers regularly and update status in AS400
Managing Resources:
Liaison between suppliers and BC/AB Operations to assist in ensuring truck readiness for new drivers
Assist with truck availabilty/assignment & orientation
Take care of driver equipment maintenance issues and complaints day to day
Inspect trucks to insure units are clean and have all necessary permits for re-assignment
Control of Expenditures:
Maintain data accuracy by creating detailed purchase orders in which all repairs/invoices are accurately coded
Enter Service failures for vendor review and tracking of trend
Maintain files and records
Emergency Repair:
Follow-up with Operations regarding any after hour events to insure complete and satisfactory repairs and coded events entered in the AS400
Arrange emergency breakdown repairs to ensure timely correction and effective effecient supplier response.
